About BestHosting.reviews

BestHosting.reviews exists because most hosting review sites are not actually review sites. They are affiliate directories dressed up as editorial — rankings driven by commission rates, not by evidence.

We built this to be different.

Who We Are

This site is built and maintained by a software architect with over 20 years of hands-on experience in web development and web hosting infrastructure. That background shapes everything here — from the scoring methodology to the specific questions we ask when evaluating a provider.

Twenty years in the field means we have personally configured Apache and Nginx servers, debugged PHP memory limits at 2 AM, migrated client sites between providers, watched "unlimited" plans crumble under real traffic, and seen the same hosting company quietly downgrade plans while keeping the old marketing copy live.

We know what the numbers in a hosting spec actually mean — and, more importantly, what they hide.

Why This Site Exists

Standard hosting reviews ask surface-level questions: Is the dashboard easy to use? Is support friendly? Does it come with a free domain?

Those questions matter, but they are the beginning of the evaluation, not the end. We dig deeper:

  • What are the actual resource limits? Most shared hosts advertise "unlimited" storage and bandwidth while imposing hard caps on inodes, CPU seconds, entry processes, and email volume. We document all of it.
  • What stack is running under the hood? LiteSpeed with object cache performs fundamentally differently from Apache with mod_php. We distinguish between providers running modern stacks and those who have not upgraded since 2015.
  • What happens when your site gets traffic? A host that looks great for 10 visitors a day may throttle aggressively at a traffic spike. We look at how providers handle load, not just empty accounts.
  • What are the renewal prices? The promotional price on most hosting plans is a teaser. We always document the renewal cost so you can calculate the real long-term expense before committing.
  • Is the support technically capable? There is a difference between a support team that can reset a password and one that can diagnose a PHP-FPM configuration issue. We test both.

How Our Scores Work

Every provider on this site receives a computed score across five dimensions: overall rating, price value, account resource limits, included features, and data transparency. Providers who disclose their limits clearly score higher than those who hide them. No provider pays to appear on this site, and no provider pays to improve their ranking.

You can read the full methodology on our Scoring Methodology page.

Affiliate Disclosure

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and purchase a plan, we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. This revenue helps us maintain the site and spend time on proper testing rather than farming out content.

Affiliate relationships do not influence rankings. Our scores are computed automatically from provider data — the commission rate a provider offers is not one of the inputs. See our full Affiliate Disclosure.
